"The one who killed Meor Harraz is Nazrin Nizamuddin!" You are very convinced with your deduction and reasoning. “I think he was jealous of his neighbour for having three beautiful girlfriends, so after Meor and Natasha went out to watch a movie, he waited for him to get back. Nazrin was lying when he told us that he had fallen asleep. When he saw Natasha left and Meor entering his own house alone, Nazrin confronted him, made his way to the kitchen, took Meor's knife and stabbed his back. He was acting all innocent to ensure the blame of the murder falls on one of Meor's three girlfriends.”
After listening to your deductions, Constable Raihanah immediately handcuffs Nazrin Nizamuddin and informs the other officers to escort him to jail. Then, she releases the other suspects for them to get back to their normal lives. She congratulates you for solving the case.
You look at your watch and it is already 5.00 p.m. You are attending a reunion dinner that evening, so you hurriedly excuse yourself and walk back to your house from the police headquarters as it is nearby. On your way back, you bump into one of the suspects, Dini Hazirah. She is tightly holding her emerald brooch when you greet her. You ask her if she is okay.
"A piece of my brooch has fallen off in that alley," Dini points towards a dark alley in between two shop lots. "Can you help me find it? It is a precious gift from Meor and I want to keep this as a memory of our happy life."
You gladly help her and walk into the alley to locate the missing piece of the emerald brooch. She follows you from behind. You have a weird feeling that something bad is going to happen. Suddenly, Dini lunges at you with a small pocket knife on her hand. Being alert, you quickly parry her attack and manage to kick her to the ground. Instinctively, you immediately cry for help while you subdue your attacker on the dirty alley floor. It is now dawned on you that she is the real killer instead of Nazrin.
After getting assistance from passers-by to restrain the lady, you quickly contact Inspector Amar Najmi and after a few minutes, the police are there to take her in. As it is already 6.00 p.m., You apologise for your previous incorrect deduction to Inspector Amar before you excuse yourself as you need to prepare yourself for a reunion dinner at your alma mater at 8.00 p.m.
