“For starters, we can eliminate some suspects based on their location during the scene of crime. When the scream was heard, Hanis Fitri and Syazwan were with each other. So were Amzar and Annis Natasha since their alibis checked out with the other guests who could prove they were at the main hall.”

“So, that leaves Haikal, Necol and Syaqille. One of them was lying and killed Anaqah!”

“Necol stated that she saw Haikal right before she entered the lady’s room in which the crime happened. Her alibi corresponds with Haikal’s in which he told us that he was outside of Syaqille’s office. Which leaves…”

“… that leaves Syaqille, who said he was in his office when all of these happened!” Inspector Amar quickly cuts you off excitedly. “And Syaqille was lying because Haikal said he knocked on his office when he heard Anaqah’s scream but nobody answered!”

“Yes, that’s correct,” you smile to Inspector Amar. “Syaqille was at the crime scene at that time. He must have had an argument with Anaqah and killed her when it got heated. And, according to Syazwan, the last person who was seen with her was Syaqille at 8.30 p.m. He must have lured her into one of the classrooms so no one can see their argument.”

“Brilliant deduction!” With that, Inspector Amar Najmi quickly instructs his officers to take Syaqille into police custody as the prime suspect for the murder of Anaqah. Before leaving, he wishes you well and he is thankful for your assistance throughout the day. As for you, you finally able to enjoy your dinner after a day of solving cases. For you, it was indeed, a day like no other.
